How many of us want to gain respect? Admiration? For people to like us for what we are on the inside?
I’m sure all of you reading this article are cool, decent persons with moral values and courage when needed.
I ask the questions above almost every single day but, for starters, let me answer a question that I’ve been asked many times:
Are or should clothes be everything in life?
My answer is: definitely NO!
Why?
Because clothes are a means, not a purpose.
I know you probably don’t like people that wear very expensive clothes and drive expensive cars. Most of them, when you try to communicate with them, it’s like hitting a wall. It’s as if… they are just empty. It’s like they have this mask that they don’t want to take off. It’s as if there’s a wall between you and them that you can’t jump over in order to get to them… to what they’re really like inside.
Then WHY, why do they hide behind clothes?
Being good at analyzing this ever since I was a kid, I pondered many times about the reasons some people wear extravagant clothes to draw attention and to reject them when they attempt communication. I tried to
In some ways, I have always been a little bit jealous of girls. I like mens fashion clothing, but it can be so hard to express yourself. With women’s clothing, there is such a great, broad variety of different bright things to express different moods. With mens clothing, however, everything is much more subdued. Two womens dresses can be as different as night and day, but mens suits almost always look about the same. With mens apparel, you can make a fashion statement, but you are always speaking in a quiet voice.
As teenagers start to become more independent and move towards adulthood they are constantly making choices and decisions that sometimes have a huge impact on them later. Good decision making skills and sound judgement skills are essential and are used even when choosing clothing, these skills can help with self confidence and self esteem. Making poor choices and un thought out decisions “also useful,” will also help to improve their exceptance of responsibility for their own actions hence suffering consciences and learn very important social developmental skills along the way that help to find their place in our society.
